About The Event
Thank you for your interest in the ISU James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference. The 2024 conference was held on July 24th with the PRRS Management workshop occurring on July 23rd. This year’s conference covered topics such as the PRRS resistant pig, the state of the markets and how the U.S. swine industry competes globally, as well as a panel on Prop 12 compliant systems and the keys to doing enacting it successfully. Additional presentations discussed wean to market biosecurity, outbreak investigations, new diagnostic techniques, new vaccine technologies, and advances in veterinary telemedicine. Several practitioner-led cases investigated PRRS recombination events, killed vaccines for various diseases, and influenza surveillance techniques, in addition to research completed with H5N1 influenza strains.
If you were unable to attend the conference this year but are interested in purchasing a copy of the proceedings, please contact Dr. Chris Rademacher ([email protected]) for further information.
We look forward to seeing you again for the 2025 ISU James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference!
