About the Role

The Swine Facility Operations Manager provides regional leadership and direct accountability for the operation, maintenance, and compliance of leased and managed facilities across Iowa. This role ensures the consistent execution of facility upkeep, equipment reliability, and environmental management in alignment with The HANOR Way.

 

This position leads Farm Engineering Technicians and the Maintenance Coordinator, manages budgets and vendor relationships, ensures safety and biosecurity compliance, and supports production teams in achieving operational efficiency and sustainability.

 

Area Snapshot

  • Oversight of swine leased and managed facilities across Iowa
  • Leadership responsibility for Farm Engineering Technicians and Maintenance Coordinator
  • Direct accountability for maintenance, environmental compliance, and capital improvement planning

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach swine facility maintenance teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Manage preventative maintenance, special projects, and vendor contracts.
  • Monitor pit levels, water usage, and environmental controls in compliance with HANOR and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with our swine production teams to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Enforce safety, biosecurity, and environmental compliance across all leased sites.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary technical training .
  • Demonstrated experience in swine production facility operations, maintenance, or a comparable multi-site leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Effective communication skills; Spanish proficiency is an asset.
  • Certifications: HANOR Animal Well-Being (AWB) required; PQA and TQA .
  • Pay is determined by a candidate's specific qualifications and professional background.
