Job Details:

Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical security of the facility, which includes assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending on the location. The role involves inspecting and controlling persons and vehicles entering or leaving the facility, logging truck traffic during ingress and egress, writing reports, performing preliminary investigations, operating the switchboard, and utilizing two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Identification Checks:

Verify identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.

Inspection of Items:

Check all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc.

Report Writing:

Write detailed investigative reports.

Preliminary Investigations:

Conduct initial investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.

 

Facility Patrols:

Rove or walk through the plant to monitor and ensure physical facility security.

 

Vehicle Inspection:

Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspect all motor vehicles driven into the plant.

 

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Supervisory and investigative skills are helpful but not mandatory.

  • Necessary training provided for successful applicants.

Education:

  • High School diploma or its equivalency.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Special Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

  • Must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including management.

  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
