About the Role
The JBS Pork Division is currently recruiting for a Manager Progeny Systems to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting to the GM Pig Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of all Rivalea commercial progeny systems. The location of this role is flexible for the right candidate.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the operations of all Rivalea commercial progeny sites, promoting high standards of animal welfare, focused operational outcomes, and safe work practices.
- Ensure progeny site managers achieve financial and production targets and strive for continual improvement.
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts in conjunction with relevant Site Managers.
- Analyse production reports with a focus on implementing continuous improvement activities. Actively participate in benchmarking activities
- Implement improvements in systems of work in conjunction with key stakeholders to deliver benefits in the areas of feed efficiency, survival, growth rate, carcass quality, operational costs, people safety and animal welfare amongst others.
- Continuously review cost of production by site and pursue opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all inventory systems are operational and accurate.
- Actively contribute to business strategies with regards to progeny systems
- Manage personnel matters of direct reports including skills analysis, training, recruitment, performance reviews and performance management, in conjunction with People & Culture (where required).
- Actively promote safe work environments/practices through strong safety processes and engagement.
- Manage effective relationships with local farmers, contractors, suppliers, and other external contacts as well as maintain a cooperative relationship and positive profile of Rivalea/JBS within the local community
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A thorough understanding of pig production gained through extensive practical experience in Progeny Systems.
- Strong leadership attributes, with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams and implementing change.
- High level communication skills, initiative, and strong attention to detail.
- An ability to develop and maintain key relationships.
- A sound knowledge of WH&S, Quality Assurance, and People & Culture procedures.
- A sound knowledge of Animal Welfare regulations.
- The ability to positively influence the behaviour of others.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- A preparedness to work flexible hours and willingness to travel.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
