We have an exciting Feed Ingredient Merchandising Trainee opportunity in Rolla, KS. The Feed Ingredient Merchandising Trainee program is designed to prepare the candidate for a future role on the feed ingredient merchandising team. The Trainee will work with ingredient inventory, ingredient ordering, ingredient purchasing, logistics, accounting, and customer service. Learning how to execute grain purchases, contracts, and settlements. Along with these areas, the Trainee will also learn the basics of documentation such as: contract balances, storage balances, and pricing information. The individual will be introduced to consumer risk management strategies for both cash grain (basis) trading, as well as futures/options trading.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase feed ingredients for Seaboard Foods feed mills.
  • Sell rendered by-products from Seaboard Foods processing plants.
  • Track feed mill ingredient inventories.
  • Organize and schedule truck feed ingredient schedules.
  • Learn accounting procedures.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural business or economics preferred; or 2-4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good critical thinking, judgement, and decision-making skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as coworkers, managers, and senior management.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

SCHEDULE

This is a 1st shift position, Mon-Fri.
